Mac Outlook Fails to Update Reading Pane

Based on my experience, maybe any process on your Mac causes this upshot, please run the Outlook for Mac in Mac Prophylactic Mode to check it:  Start or restart your Mac, and then immediately press and hold the Shift key. The white Apple tree logo appears on your display> Release the shift cardinal when y'all meet the login window.

Meanwhile, this issue should be a pure customer issue, please create a new profile to check the upshot, please see: Manage profiles or identities in Outlook for Mac. Note: please backup the data just in case. Also, accept you lot tried reinstall Outlook for Mac? If not, please try information technology to bank check the upshot. Although, nosotros don't recommend reinstall any customer.

Hi Rudy,

When you write "perchance whatever process on your Mac causes this issue," are y'all speculating, or have you lot specifically identified this issue occurs due to other processes running?   I was hoping for a more than specific answer than "run in safe mode", which seems to be a catch-all recommendation MS gives when they don't understand what is specifically causing the problem.

As well, what is the footing for your exclamation that it is a "pure client consequence"?  How practise you know information technology is not an issue with Outlook?

In the meantime, MS Support reports the following:

We take received [reports from] several customers come across[ing] [the] same situation.

Firstly, please try to switch to Bottom view and restart your Mac.

When you turn on Outlook for mac, switch the reading pane equally Right again.

So they add:

We are collecting information of this issue.

This is more the kind of respond I was looking for.  It confirms that other customers are encountering this (so I am not solitary—suggesting information technology is not , as you claim, a "pure client effect"), and gives a possible fix designed specifically for this problem.  I will try this and meet if it works.

Hi Rudy,

For the reasons I explained in my earlier post, I thought information technology made more sense to follow the instructions provided to me by the MS support rep I interacted with via chat (which I describe above), rather than the instructions you lot provided, since his were specific to the problem.  Then, no, I haven't tried using rubber mode/new business relationship/reinstalling Role. Instead, I did what he suggested, and (thus far) it has worked -- the problem has not returned.   If it does, I volition let you know.

Now that I've replied to your questions, tin yous please answer to the two questions I asked you lot?   Specifically:

When you write " mayhap any process on your Mac causes this issue, " are yous speculating, or have y'all specifically identified this result occurs due to other processes running?

What is the ground for your assertion that information technology is a "pure customer outcome"?  How exercise you know it is not an outcome with Outlook? [Especially since other users accept experienced the same event.]

No, they are troubleshooting steps. We demand y'all follow these steps to examination and based on the consequence to narrow down the outcome. These steps are non solutions which are testing steps used to find out the workaround or solutions.
